This Mini Mean Street XC features our proprietary heat treat protocol that we call INFI-XC.
This change to our heat treat protocol takes the blade hardness up to 60-62 RC.
INFI-XC is not a change in INFI's composition or constituents. It is simply a change in our heat-treat protocol.
This protocol adds an impressive increase in edge retention while maintaining the ease of resharpening that INFI is known for.
While this increase in Rockwell hardness aids in edge retention, it does slightly decrease the toughness.
This makes the Mini Mean Street the perfect platform for the XC Heat Treat protocol.
In a knife that is made for cutting and slicing, INFI-XC shines.
In other words, the Mini Mean Street XC is NOT designed to be a beater.
While this slight decrease in toughness can be seen against our standard INFI protocol, the knife is still more than tough enough to accomplish your needs.
Even with the slight decrease in toughness, this blade is still tougher than other blades in this size category.
Rest assured that even if the situation dictates hard use, your knife will perform exceptionally, and you are always covered by our Lifetime warranty against any and all unintentional damage.
We recently took one of these blades to deer camp and processed 8 deer (all we harvested), and it performed flawlessly.
We used it for field dressing, skinning, and meat processing.
The INFI-XC Mini Mean Street made quick work of the 8 deer.
Cutting into bone, cartilage, hair, skin, and meat did not cause any dulling of the edge, and we never needed to touch the edge up during the process.
This knife is a hunter's dream blade, slicing like a hot knife through warm butter.
